Creating access to elite training, leadership development, and wellness for underserved youth across Lancaster and York Counties, SC, and South Charlotte, NC.
We are creating access to elite training, leadership development, and wellness for underserved youth across Lancaster and York Counties, SC, and South Charlotte, NC — developing confident, disciplined, high-performing young leaders.
Many Title I and underserved students lack access to structured athletic development, mentorship, and wellness programming. That gap impacts confidence, physical health, academic focus, and long-term opportunity.
A community where every committed young athlete — regardless of family income — has the same access to professional-grade training, performance assessments, and life-shaping mentorship.
Measurable performance training delivered through D1 Training Indian Land, layered with mentorship, academic accountability, and a clear path of progression — Access → Development → Elite.
D1 Training Indian Land opened in December 2019 and has been part of the community ever since. Executive Director LaToya Dixon took ownership of the facility in 2024 — extending its elite training methodology beyond paying members to families who otherwise couldn't access it. The Foundation is the formal arm of that mission.
D1 Training Indian Land has been training local athletes since December 2019 — built into the fabric of youth athletics across the region.
Locally owned and operated by Executive Director LaToya Dixon since 2024.
Part of the D1 Training franchise network — the same training methodology used by pro athletes, applied locally to youth performance.
Lancaster County and York County in South Carolina, plus South Charlotte in North Carolina — a cross-state community focus.
From a signature back-to-school community day to a foundation-run football camp to year-round free training, our programs meet youth athletes and families where they are — and create a clear pathway to elite performance.
A free community-wide celebration hosted in partnership with NFL athletes, community leaders, and local businesses — providing school supplies, family resources, wellness services, and the live Foundation 10 scholarship presentation.
NFL athlete partner to be announced. Past and prospective partners include NFL athletes with ties to the Carolinas.
At the close of every Back-to-School Bash, ten youth athletes earn a full 12-month D1 Training scholarship — presented on stage by the NFL host.
Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, character, leadership, effort, and commitment — not athletic talent alone.
Every recipient must complete a scholarship application in advance. Five are chosen by our selection committee from applications. The other five are identified at our annual Foundation Football Camp by our coaches.
12 months of elite performance training · A personal mentor · Quarterly performance reviews · Quarterly academic check-ins. Most nonprofits give a backpack. We give a year.
While backpacks and resources help families start the school year strong, the Foundation's long-term impact begins after the event. Foundation 10 recipients receive 12 months of elite performance training, mentorship, leadership development, and academic accountability through D1 Training Indian Land. Our goal is not simply to support students for a day — but to help develop confident, healthy, high-performing young leaders for years to come.
Led by NFL athletes, D1 Training coaches, and collegiate mentors. A standalone youth football camp where skill development, combine-style testing, and elite-pathway preparation meet — at no cost to nominated scholarship athletes.
Ages 5–18, split into age-appropriate training groups. Five of the year's ten Foundation 10 scholarship recipients are identified here by our coaches based on effort, attitude, and leadership demonstrated over the course of the day.
Beyond the flagship event and the annual camp, the Foundation runs free year-round programming open to families across our region — meeting kids where they are and making elite training feel possible.
One Saturday morning a month at D1 Indian Land. Free, all ages, parents welcome. A taste of elite-level training for families who otherwise couldn't access it.
Parents and kids train side by side — fitness games, healthy snack stations, mentor meet-and-greets. Built to make wellness a family habit.
D1 coaches visit partner Title I schools and lead PE-style sessions, giving every kid a taste of elite training right in their own gym.
Open combine testing — 40-yard, shuttle, vertical, broad jump — for high school athletes preparing for college recruiting and reporting their numbers.
Two paths into the foundation's scholarship programs — apply for yourself or your child, or nominate an athlete you believe in. Both go to the same selection committee.
If you're a parent or athlete applying for the Foundation 10 scholarship. A more rigorous application — three short essays and one reference required.
